Our new customer
in Bosnia and Herzegovina produces wood veneer products for IKEA.
Previously, they have been running semi-automatic edgebanders for their curved
products.
Their transition to a Revolution 180 has delivered impressive results:
- We’ve dramatically reduced reject rates from around 30%, down to almost zero
- we are still getting a few related to material issues with veneer. - The Revolution’s advanced edge pressure and glue system has significantly
enhanced product quality and appearance - check out the comparison photo. - With automatic edgebanding there is no reliance on each operator for the
quality of the finish. - 3 machine operators were reduced to 1.
- There was a 50% reduction in floor space required.
- The operators are more efficient and they’re enjoying the Revolution
experience. Production rates are well up, handling has been reduced, and
clean-up times after banding and trimming have been slashed.
With lower cost structures and big improvements in both quality and throughput,
our customer is confident their business with IKEA will continue to grow and
strengthen.
